The Youth Representatives and their siblings for our county are trying to set up a Youth club all those age 12-17(that are licensed for snowmobiling) that may be interested in one. The goal is to build comradery among all ages to work together and promote snowmobiling at its finest. This club would help teach about the safety and laws for the sport, how to and what it takes to put in trails, as well as fundraise for the community. Please reach out to one of these members soon so we can start a club. We are unable to send out via the schools due to it not being related to them so please pass along the information to others that may be interested.

Jefferson Snowstormers and JC Riders are cohosting a snowmobile safety class on Oct. 22nd 6-9pm and 23rd 5-8pm at the activity center of the Jefferson fairgrounds. Sign up is on the DNR website go-wild.
These are ride safe lights! They have been around out east for a long time and are slowly making their way to the Midwest.
How they work: You install the lights on your sled (there is a company that sells as one unit to install) or you can install them yourself. Yellow(amber) is for all riders except the last one in your group. Green is used by the last rider. You install both colors on every sled if you don’t purchase the single unit. This is so when on coming traffic is coming they can see that there are more sleds coming until they get to the green. They will now know that was the last person in your group. No more hand signaling. This allows for riders to keep both hand on the handle bars at all times.
Any person who is born on or after Jan. 1, 1985 and who has reached the age of 12, must have completed and received a snowmobile safety certificate in order to operate a snowmobile in Wisconsin. The certificate must be carried while operating the snowmobile and displayed to a law enforcement officer upon demand. Age 16 and older can do an online course to become certified. Ages 12-15 need to go to an in person class. To sign up go to http://gowild.wi.gov” , you will need a DNR number to sign up.
